After graduating from the san Francisco art institute with a degree in painting in late 1992 I began my tattoo apprenticeship. I apprenticed with the legendary Erno Szabady in San Francisco . In june of the following year I started tattooing at Erno’s Santa Cruz location. I had the opportunity to work with a lot of great people there including Iggy Evans, Dave Crossley and Jason Prater. Two years later I moved to Ernos San Francisco shop. Ernos reputation being what it is I got to work with more top quality artists like Mandy Flynn, George Campise, Sonny Tufts and Greg Kulz. I spent two and a half years working in the Lower Haight District of San Francisco. Through a series of minor disasters I ended up owning a tattoo shop just north of San Francisco . I had lots of support from friends in the area but I was never happy with the way the shop was set up. After two and a half years of headaches I sold the shop to Andrea Ottlewski who worked with me there and before that at Ernos. Vowing never to own another tattoo shop my family and I moved to Spokane in 2000 to work at Walt Daileys Tiger Tattoo.

I was lucky enough to work with local tattooers Duffy Moon , Desiree Cassano , Buck Holland , Caleb Frey, Tom Morris , and of course Walt. In 2005 I moved to All American Tattoo but after less than a year and a half I found myself looking for a new spot. In spite of my earlier experience I decided to open my own shop . This time I intended to start from scratch and do it right, Shamrock Tattoo is the result. I am trying to do as much as possible myself and I am really enjoying myself. I hope you will come down and check out how its shaping up. We have got a good thing going and it is only going to get better. I wanted to say thanks to everybody for their support, its good to know I have so many friends. Most importantly I want to thank my dad and my wonderful wife and daughters , you are the very best. If I left anybody out and I am sure I did I am sorry. Let me know and I will try to fix it. See you soon.
